As traveler of the world, the Gypsy heart observes the splendor of the lands they explore, but cannot help but notice the disparity and distress of the nations' people. In a time when donations to charity have been down as much as 50%,
Travel Dames wish to help fill the gap for programs in need, such as, Women For Women International, which helps
"women survivors of war with tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self sufficiency. Women For Women transforms their lives through financial and emotional support, rights awareness, leadership skills, job skills training and small business assistance, to rebuild their lives." WfW An aim of the social club is to be a pro-active travel buddy by giving a hand up to women around the world.
Gypsy Heart Travel Dames encourages women travelers to come together to celebrate and share a heart connection with GoRed girlfriends to prevent heart disease. While you are having your travel adventure, you can be a Gypsy nice philanthropist at the same time. Travel Dames contribute to the research, study and prevention methods, specifically for women, to help reduce heart disease, which is the number one killer of women, even before cancer.
Treatment of women has been based, predominately, on tests and diagnostics performed on men. Two thirds of the women who have a heart attack are unable to recover. Heart disease is the leading cause of disability in women; also, leading to a higher morbidity rate than for men. The emphasis on the word heart is placed on the title of the club, so a percentage of the proceeds from the purchases made by women travelers will be contributed to The Heart Center at Cedar - Sinai Heart Institute, a leader in advancing heart research for women. Barbra Streisand is matching funds of 5 million dollars.

The history of the Gypsy is actually the history of the Roma people. Genetics and linguistic studies have allowed the origin of the Gyspies to be traced back a 1000 years to north India. The influence of various north India and Pakistani dialects are found in the Romani languge.
Much of the Gypsy history was never documented, for obvious reasons; they were a nomadic and persecuted people. In the confusion, there was a mistaken idea that the Roma were Egyptian. The term Gypsy was
used to identify this traveling group.
